Landscape Deconstruction is a performative installation featuring a transformed robot vacuum cleaner and a landscape of sand shapes. Once switched on, the robot begins successively transforming the landscape according to a preset algorithm; forming a typical set of circles, while the sand shapes are heavy and outwearing obstacles for the electronic device. In the setup of non-allocable sand shapes, associations sway between micro and macro, between sporting event, dystopic vision, and playground scenario.
The work was shown at the project space Gold & Beton at Ebertpassage in Cologne and was visible from public space, which resulted in a mixed audience taking sides in the collision of the two formal regimes and their shaping of the miniature landscape.
