My name is Kat Petroschkat, I am an media/performance artist and researcher based in Munich.

I am interested in diverse ways of knowing, in that sense I develop methods of involvement that draw on a bricolage of artistic, magical and epistemological practices.

To reveal resilient relationships for livable futures (behind dysfunctional techno-utopian versions of the present) I investigate disturbed landscapes, bodies and ghosts, supported by unpretentious counterparts like sand, algae, weeds, lichen, teeth, charred wood and cultivated plants.

I have studied Fine Art at Akademie der Bildenden Künste Munich, Cultural Studies at the Humboldt Universität Berlin, and hold a PhD in Applied Art and Culture Studies from the Kunstuniversität Linz.

Often I work in project-related collaborations, for example with partners from scientific institutions or various professions, but also regularly with the artist and anthropologist Dr. Susanne Schmitt and the performance collective "The Hercules and Leo Case".
